Reign of Gratitude

Reign of Christ Sunday – Colossians 1:11–20

What does it mean to live under the Reign of Christ in a world that feels chaotic, hurried, and out of our control? In this sermon, we step into Paul’s prison cell—cramped, dim, and heavy with chains—and discover a stunning truth: even there, gratitude can reign.

Paul writes to a small, forgotten town about a cosmic Christ who “holds all things together.” And that raises a question for us: If Christ reigns, what reigns in us? Pride? Fear? Control? Comparison? Or gratitude?

Through Scripture, honest reflection, and a powerful closing story, this message invites us into a different way of living—a life shaped not by anxiety or achievement, but by the gentle, sustaining reign of Jesus.

Because the Reign of Christ is not about domination—it’s about mercy, peace, and a gratitude that frees the soul.

In him, all things hold together.

In him, gratitude becomes glory.

In him, the Reign of Christ continues—even now.
