Do you remember what it feels like to really do your best? To really hit a home run? Most people, most of the time, settle for good enough. A lot of us, if we're honest with ourselves, are so used to just struggling to get by.
Things happen. Life is frantic. And before we know it, we can't even remember the last time we really gave something our all. We can't remember the last time we said, "I will do my best," and meant it.
At Christmas, we celebrated God giving God's best to us in Christ. The only appropriate response for us is to be people who give our best, too. As we explore what it means to do our best we'll use the Royal Ambassador pledge as our guide. Some of you will remember the Royal Ambassadors. If you don't, you can read about the organization HERE.
The pledge is printed below. We'd love to see you at Heritage as we spend the next several weeks focusing on ways that we can give our best to God. We worship each Sunday at 11.
As a Royal Ambassador I will do my best:
To become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ
To have a Christ-like concern for all people
To learn how to carry the message of Christ around the world
To work with others in sharing Christ
To keep myself clean and healthy in mind and body
