“And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are PURE and blameless in his sight.”
-2 Peter 3:14
This year at Heritage we're doing two things to get ready for Easter. First, we'll focus on purity in worship. In this world it's hard to stay pure for long. That's why the Bible speaks so frequently about cleansing, renewal and the chance to begin again. Scripture often uses water as a symbol of purity and cleansing, so in the weeks leading up to Easter our messages will focus on how the Bible uses water to illustrate our potential for pure and blameless lives.
Second, we're encouraging habits that lead to purity in daily living through our "Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies" initiative. We're asking you to track the things you do that promote a healthy mind and a healthy body--things like pleasure reading, listening to music, walking outside or participating in a fitness class. For six weeks between now and Easter, we don't want a single healthy mind or healthy body activity to go unrecorded! We'll ask you to turn in your records on Easter Sunday, and then the Sunday after Easter we'll celebrate all that we've accomplished with a Low Country Boil after worship.
