New Worship Pastor, Justin Bishop, and his wife, Anna.
Welcome Justin Bishop
Justin grew up just down the road in Canton where his parents still live and fish…lots of “big” stories to tell there! As a graduate of Cherokee High School, his English teacher gave him a keyboard; a friend of the family gave him a guitar, and the rest was musical history! He now plays 17 instruments…if it has strings, he can play it. Justin attended Matt’s alma mater, Mercer University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and went on to earn a Master of Divinity at the McAfee School of Theology where he completed a thesis on William Faulkner and Genesis.
He comes to us from Johns Creek Baptist Church where he led youth worship for 5 years, and worked as a youth ministry intern 3 years prior. He currently teaches High School English full-time at King’s Ridge Christian School where he has also taught Middle School English and Christian Education classes. During his summer breaks, he has both led and chaperoned youth trips to Student Life and PASSPORT, and he even led worship for PASSPORT for 2 summers.
Justin and his wife Anna live in Cumming with their son Elijah and dog Toby. They met in Sunday School at Johns Creek where Anna’s father works as Minister of Music. Anna is an addictions counselor for Hall County Drug Court where she provides both personal and group therapy for participants. She is a graduate of Mississippi College and Brenau University. Justin and Anna share musical interests, and they have performed with a bluegrass band where Justin plays guitar and Anna plays bass. For the entire family, worship has always been a larger part of life rather than just a Sunday morning event, and they eagerly look forward to joining our Fellowship!
